Growing up isn't easy, especially when you're in love with a bear.
This is a story about a wayward girl who dares to follow her longing. One night a compelling dream leads her deep into the forest, where a chance encounter sets her on a fateful path she could never have anticipated. Based on a powerful Nordic myth, this is a fierce coming-of-age story about identity, passion and the willingness to love.
Following a sell-out success at Edingburgh Fringe Festival 2011 and a critically-acclaimed tour of the UK and Ireland during 2012, this dark fairy-tale combines stunning puppetry, enchanting musisc and deft humour.

Onstage a classic British comedy is in full swing.
The marriage of Rupert and Sarah is on the rocks and their lawyer friends, Charles and Madge agree to handle the divorce. After the play has been running for a few minutes, Rupert forgets his lines, has a brain storm and threatens to kill Charles in full view of the audience. The rest of the cast try to ignore the incident and forge ahead with the original play with hilarious results. A real life marital comedy now evolves. In a similar vein to "Noises off", this "play within a play" is a light hearted tilt at the complete theatricality of stage folk.

Lowestoft is twinned with Plaisir in France. This year the Seagull was honoured to be asked to send a show to our French siblings, by the town's twinning association.
The show, Tides, looks at life in England today but also some of the history of Lowestoft and a journey through the towns life and culture as the tides of time ebb and flow over the most easterly town in the UK. This show consisting of drama, dance and a song, in both English and French, will be a fun performance for anyone with an interest in the town and the performing art.

Saved by Our Community
It's been a long road since the Seagull Theatre's closure, prompting an impassioned response from the public.
A campaign was begun in earnest to save the Seagull Theatre, known as the SOS (Save Our Seagull) campaign. Although the journey's not over yet, it's worth remembering how it all began.
