Songs From The Motion Picture
‘O Brother Where Art Thou’
Tosh Ewins , yet again brings together a cast of national and locally acclaimed performers and musicians, to re create a concert performed at the Ryman Auditorium, (The Grand Ole Opry), in Nashville, in the year 2000.
The original concert was given to promote the motion picture, ‘O Brother Where Art Thou’ and contained many a classic ‘Ole timey song’, including ‘ I am a man of constant Sorrow, Big Rock Candy Mountain, and You are my Sunshine’.
Our cast for this show includes: Sue Brooks,(Heat winner of Stars in Their Eyes), Fairfield, (All the way from the West Midlands), Tony Dinsdale, plus local singers and the Instant Choir Band,’ Dorothy’s Dog’!!
So if you fancy a bit of a sing a long , dressing up in late 1920’s, early 1930’s dress (optional), get your tickets at the Seagull Theatre Box Office.
This show is going to be performed in memory of Phil Abbott, and is a fund raising concert for ‘Centre 81’ in Gt Yarmouth, where Phil worked. We asked Phil’s wife Trish to pick this year’s Fund/Charity. As Phil was due to do this show, we also asked if his picture could remain on the poster, and Trish very bravely said yes.
Centre 81 is currently based in Tar Works Road, Great Yarmouth. The buildings are old, tired and expensive to maintain, so we have set our sights on developing a new centre.Since it was launched in 1981, Centre 81 has built up a vast amount of experience of working with people with physical, sensory and other disabilities, and a reputation for encouraging and helping members to develop their abilities, enjoy themselves and become more independent
Start Time : 7.30pm
